Edison Girls Lacrosse Weekly News and Reminders

Good evening, Lacrosse Family. We hope you all are well. We miss seeing you!

Although we will not have the opportunity to resume our season, Coach Olivia will be sharing some exercises and drills you can do at home to stay in shape and keep your skills up. 10th – 12th graders will need to report workouts to her to be submitted for grades as part of the new distance learning program.

·         Pictures: Laura Hesse will be receiving player photos within the next week. She will be sending out information separately to make arrangements for pickup.

·         Uniform return: sometime in June, we will be setting up a curbside drop-off system for uniform and pinnie returns.

·         End of Season Party: once we are able to assemble together, we will be hosting a beach bonfire to honor our players and coaches, and recognize our senior, Sammy Gomez!

·         Summer Camp: for our returning players, Summer Camp is still scheduled for August 3rd through 7th. Beginning players are scheduled from1:00 – 2:30 p.m., and experienced players from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Details for all upcoming events will follow.

We truly appreciate each family who submitted their season donation this year. With those donations, we have been able to cover all incurred expenses. For those families who paid their full donation this year, we will be offering a discount on next year’s season donation.

Stay safe and stay healthy lacrosse family! We look forward to seeing you soon!

To the Spring Athletes of Edison High School:

I cannot express to you the disappointment I feel about you losing out on your season. All the hard work you put into the season has been taken away by something very much out of your control.  I was so looking forward to watching you all compete, represent, and be great ambassadors for Edison. However, I know you all understand that saving lives is more important than scoring goals or running fast.  Still, that does not take away the sting of your lost season. You were robbed of fun times with teammates, great team dinners, great competition, and representing your school. You were cheated from fighting for a championship while being character leaders for the school. I wish I could make it all ok, but I cannot.  I can only tell you how proud I am of you all and how much joy you have brought to not only myself but also to the thousands of Charger faithful.

To my seniors, you definitely deserved better. The class of 2020 is a special one. You have won numerous championships, titles, and awards but much more important than that is how you have grown into wonderful adults. I know some of you have looked forward to the day when you were seniors and could lead your team and to have it stripped away is gut-wrenching but sometimes it is out of our control. Sometimes you take a fall, but I know you will all get up. It is not the ending you need to focus on but the journey you went on the past 4 years. It has prepared you for everything in life and I, for one, look forward to all the great things you will accomplish in life. Tough times never last but tough people do, or should I say tough Chargers do. Class of 2020 - go out and lead the way back. Go out and show the world that this is just a hiccup in your life's adventure.

To all the underclassmen, when we return (and we will return), be strong for what you have gone through. Take nothing and no one for granted. Be a better friend, a better son or daughter, and come back loving the sports you missed more than ever. We have all gone through history and I hope we come out the better for it. Stay safe, healthy, and happy Chargers.  Proud to be a Charger!!!!
